Something strange is happening in the sleepy village of Chortleby as one by one members of the Village Hall committee are bumped off.
Enter Agatha Crusty (pronounced Croo-sty) to aid the hapless and hopeless Detective Inspector Twigg solve the case.
With more murders than Midsomer and a policeman as clueless as Clouseau this play will have you laughing all the way through while you try to determine whodunnit.
Things kick off at the Community Centre, Wakeman Road, Bourne End on 20th September with a free showing for senior citizens, followed by further performances on 22nd and 23rd September, all starting at 8pm.
Tickets are £9 with concessions at £7, available from 19 August from Bourne End Library or by calling 01628 523291.
We have been approached to see if we could provide a Murder Mystery at a dinner at Marlow Masonic Centre on Saturday 18th November. I have found a script called ‘Downton Crabbey’ It only needs 1 man and 3 women and the scripted part is only 15 minutes. Audience interrogation is obviously improvised.
What’s the Mystery Here?
London, around 1900. A Hotel Inspector is due to inspect Downtown Crabbey, a hotel designed for young American travellers to feel at home in London. In the dining room, his arrival is causing something of a panic, there we find
Roberta Crawley the Dowager Countess of Gravenshire
Murphy Crawley her American nephew
Meryl Patmore the Cook
Maisy Robinson the Scullery Maid
Whilst Countess Roberta and her nephew are worried about the inspection, the cook and maid have something far more important on their minds: a fork has gone missing
Can I ask if anyone would be interested in taking part in this. A donation will be made to Club funds and the beauty of this script, apart from the small cast, is that it has multiple solutions so could be used for another occasion.
I need to give the organizer an answer yes or no very quickly so that he can look elsewhere if we can’t do it so if you could let me know by e-mail asap if you are interested I would be very grateful.
Please note the date for the volunteers day to clean, tidy and paint areas around the centre in 17th September 2017. This is also the time they will have the skip etc so our only opportunity to get rid of STUFF!
If people are around the help sort and clear out then please let me know
This is a request for help with a couple of Agatha Crusty rehearsals.

As we agreed last time the committee have met and discussed the suggestions from our crisis meeting on 5th June.
We now want to bring this back to the club so we can all take it forward, please note we will be looking for volunteers to take on some of these ideas.
To this end we are holding another club meeting on Monday 3rd July at 8pm in the small hall.
Can everyone please try to attend so we can continue to ensure the future of our club.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Please join us for casting of the hilarious play, Agatha Crusty, on Monday 19 June in the small hall at the Bourne End community centre at 8pm
Firstly a big thank you to everyone who could attend last night and to those who couldn’t be there put forward suggestions and ideas.
I think we came away we a good selection of ideas both short and long term that we can use to take the club forward.
First and foremost as interest in an autumn production was so strong we are going to read Agatha Crusty (kindly put forward by Wendy) Monday 12th June at 8pm in the small hall. Please come down and read / support the club even if you cannot take part in the show.
With regards to the other suggestions the committee are going to meet to review and prioritise and we will set another meeting for around a months time so we can discuss and ensure we are continuing to move forward.
Autumn Show Dress Rehearsal – 17th September
Autumn Show – 18th – 23rd September
Autumn Show Clear Up – 24th September
Over the past couple of years the Forum have suffered from declining membership and active participation. The result of this is that we have only really been doing panto for 3 years and we have struggled to cast each time.
The lack of participation / interest in an autumn show, followed by not a great take up on the spring show, has now brought this to a head. Especially as there is considerable doubt about whether we can cast a panto for 2018, and as yet have had no-one showing any interest in putting forward a script to direct.
Given this the committee have decided that we need to hold and an emergency members meeting for the club on Monday 5th June in the small hall. This meeting is for everyone to come with ideas and thoughts about how we should be taking the club forward. This can be as wider ranging as you want (remember this is your club) and we can cover, number and timings of shows, how often we meet, what people want to see as part of meetings, etc.
I cannot stress that we need everyone to attend, even if you do not want to take an active role in the club we need your help. I hope that I don’t need to point out that if we cannot put on a panto in 2018 then the Forum Players will fold.
Refreshments will be provided so please RSVP to confirm that you are attending by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
If you cannot attend but have ideas / thoughts please send to me in advance.
Thanks in advance for your support
