Autumn Newsletter

Hello everyone
As we head towards December, this can only mean one thing for Forum Players…Panto rehearsals!   The productions is well under way for “Beauty & The Beast, The Pantomime” by Emily Plumridge.  We have a fabulous song list, wonderful costumes and a new approach to setting the stage for telling this wonderful story, …”as old as time”.
We have a full cast this year, and rehearsals are a great deal of fun.  We also have our production team in full swing building stage sets on Sunday mornings, and we have the marvellous Rick & Karin with their designs for scenery.  Painting has commenced!  Tracey has surpassed herself this year with designs for costumes and accessories.
As always, if there is anyone who would like to get involved, on stage or as part of the production team, there is plenty that we can offer.  We have had a request for work experience on the lighting and sound, which I am pleased to say we are able to accommodate & support.
This Saturday, 30th November, our lovely Fiona & Rebecca Russel will be at the Claytons school Christmas Fayre, with a Forum Players stand and a fun game on which to ‘pick a number’ for a chance to win a Panto themed prize.  Our lovely Pippa Gethin has made some wonderful ‘Belle’ themed cupcakes for every entrant in the game.
Friday 6th December is the Bourne End Christmas Fun night, and Panto tickets will officially go on sale that evening.   We will also have a stall at this event, again with a fun game and cupcakes available for all who participate.
During the Panto performances, we would appreciate support from members with the front of house activities.  This will include meeting guests, helping people to find their seats and serving teas & coffees at the interval.  If you have some time available on any of the performance dates, any help would be much appreciated ( Weds 15th Jan, Saturday 18th Jan (matinee) Sunday 19th Jan (matinee) and Saturday 25th Jan).
The next Date for the Diary will the our AGM.  This will be held on Monday 27th January 2020 in the Small Hall at the BE Community Centre.
Following on from the AGM, we will send invitations for reading the script for our next production, which will be in May 2020 (13th -16th).  This will be ‘The Young Ones’ based on the Cliff Richard story.  We have a fabulous Director, Ginnie Freeman, who will work with is for the first time.  Ginnie is a very experienced Thespian having recently directed 2x Shakespeare productions with John Timewell for the Garden Players. I am delighted to announce that we also have the wonderful ‘Silver Shadows’ performing with us on stage for this production.  More dates to follow for reading of scripts and auditions.  Rehearsals will begin around the 3rd week in February.
I will leave you with details of the Christmas Concert being performed by the Wycombe Philharmonic Choir on Saturday 14th December.  These concerts are always a joy and our FP member, Wendy Keeble, sings with this choir (flyer attached with details).
Bye for now, but please don’t hesitate to contact either myself or a member of the committee of there is anything you would like to raise or discuss.
I’ll be in contact again soon, closer to Panto ‘Go Live’.
With thanks
Kind regards
Kerry
Chairman, Forum Players
